STUDIO POLICY

Student’s name_______________________________ Date______________

1.     My fee for a 30 minute lesson is ___________ which can be paid in monthly (in advance), or can be paid weekly at the time of the lesson.  Students who pay in full by the end of the first week of the month will be given five bonus points (see the incentive program below.)

2.     Credit will be given for illness or emergencies only.  If you encounter a conflicting social or school event I will attempt to reschedule the lesson.  Please notify me at least 24 hours in advance of the lesson if there is a conflict.

3.     Non emergency cancellations, last minute cancellations and no shows will necessitate charging the full lesson fee payable at the time of the next lesson.

4.     Students are expected to be responsible for their own lesson materials.  (I don’t want to hear, “My Mom forgot to bring my books.”)

Incentive plan:   In order to encourage students to do their best, I have developed an incentive plan.  Students can earn points based on several aspects of the lesson such as promptness, co-operation, note and rhythm accuracy, technique, practice time etc.  Five bonus points will be awarded to students whose parents pay in full for the month.  When a student has accumulated 100 points, they will be given a $5 gift card for Walmart.  Bonus points are also awarded when students participate in recitals.

Recitals:  I do four or five recitals each year, and I encourage all my students to participate in them.  I think it is important for a child’s self esteem to be able to show off their talents.  By starting to do recitals at a young age, children develop confidence and lose the fear of performing in public.  Because I am a member of the Pennsylvania Music Teachers Association and the Music Teachers National Association, my students are able to participate in many County and State wide activities and competitions also.

Learning to play the piano involves many hours of practice.  You can help your child by offering lots of praise and encouragement.  (Please see my “Letter to Parents” and “Practice Tips” for more ways to help your child succeed.)

Respectfully, Margy Williams

I have read the above policy and agree to the terms.
