The Autumn Recital will be held at Green Meadows Personal Care Home on Saturday, October
17th at 2:00 PM
in the Country Kitchen. This will be an
informal recital, so music does not have to be memorized. We do not have a lot of time to prepare
however. I had hoped to have the recital
the following weekend, but Green Meadows already had several activities planned
for that weekend. I would like to encourage
each student play 2 to 4
pieces. The folks at green Meadows
really look forward to having us come and play for them,
The Sonatina Contest will be held at the new Seton Hill Performing Arts
Center at the corner of W. Otterman St. and Harrison Ave. in Greensburg. This will be
a perfect opportunity for you to see the new arts building. I have only two students competing this year,
but everyone is invited to come see the Winners Recital at 4:00 PM. Only the two
best performers in each category will be allowed to play at the recital, but
everyone is invited to watch. There will
be free parking in the Bell Parking Garage across Otterman Street from the Arts Building. Please enter
the building at the Harrison Ave. entrance.
The competition at the Sonatina Contest is very stiff so let’s wish
Jerrick and Mike lots of luck.
The Christmas Recital will be either the second or third Sunday in
December. I haven’t gotten a definite
date for it yet, but will let you know when I do. Students may start on Christmas music as soon
as they have learned their songs for the Autumn Recital. If you still have a Christmas book that you
haven’t completed and it is not too easy for you this year, please bring it
with you to your first lesson after October 17th.
