Steinway Recital.   Seton Hill University is now an all Steinway school.  To celebrate, concert pianist and Steinway artist, Barbara Nissman will be performing at the Seton Hill Performing Arts Center on Saturday, March 12 at 7:30 PM.  Tickets are $10 for adults and $5 for students and seniors.  For tickets and information please call SHUPAC box office at 724-552-2929.

Composition Recital.  I was very disappointed that none of my students entered the Composition Contest this year.  I know that I have several students who can write music and I’d like to remind you that there are cash prizes for the winners of this competition.  There were very few entries this year so any students who entered stand a very good chance of winning.  If you are interested in hearing the winners, the recital will be on Saturday, April 16th at 4:00 PM at the recital hall in the rear of Trombino Music Center at Westmoreland Mall.  Since there were so few entries, a limited number of other students will be performing also.

Ensemble Recital.  The PMTA Ensemble Recital will be held on Sunday, May 22 at 3:00 PM at the Trombino Recital Hall at Westmoreland Mall.  Duets, ensembles and any combination of Piano and voice or other instruments can participate.  Students may perform duets with other students, family members or teachers.  If you are interested in performing, please let me know so that we can start preparing the music.  Deadline for entering is May 16th. There is no charge to enter.  If you perform a piano duet, you can also use it as one of your pieces for my Spring Recital.

Spring Recital.  I have not set a date for my spring recital yet, but I am tentatively looking at June 12th.  Music must be memorized for this recital, so we need to start preparing now.  (Duets do not need to be memorized.)  Let me know if you have been working on a piece that you really like so you can start to memorize it for the recital.
