October Recital:
PMTA has decided not to do the
October recital at Barnes and Noble so we will do our recital at Emeritus
Latrobe instead (formerly called Green Meadows). Emeritus is located near St. Vincent College. From route 30
turn at the light by St
Vincent then turn left onto Brouwers Drive. Emeritus will
be the first building on the left. The
recital will be on Sunday, October 23rd at 2:00 PM in the Country Kitchen. (Residents are given priority seating, so you
may have to stand.) I would like each
student to play two pieces which need not be memorized. Students may play Halloween music or songs
from your regular books. If you would
like a Halloween piece, let me know at your next lesson. Students may wear Halloween Costumes if they
like, but please make sure the costume doesn’t block your hands or your vision.
The Sonatina Contest will be held on October 2nd at the Seton
Hill Performing Arts Center. Sarah
Glasser and Sarah Sass from my studio will be competing this year. Please wish them luck. I have not received their judging times yet,
but all students and their families are invited to attend the winner’s recital
at 4:00 PM.
Christmas Recital:
For those of you who like to
plan ahead, I have scheduled our Christmas Recital for Dec 18th at 2:00 PM at Prince of Peace Lutheran Church on Mission Road in Latrobe.
There is ample seating so friends, neighbors and relatives are
welcome. PMTA may also be scheduling a
Christmas Recital at Barnes and Noble, but I don’t have any information on that
at this time. Students may participate
in both recitals if they like.
